Dr William Charnetski has been appointed chief health innovation strategist for the province of Ontario. Charnetski joins the government after 11 years at AstraZeneca where he held a number of senior positions. In his new job, he will work to drive collaboration across the public and private sectors to bring new innovative health technologies to market in Ontario and internationally. The appointment was a key recommendation of a December/14 report by the Ontario Health Innovation Council calling for the adoption of new technologies to enhance health care services, reduce costs, create value and support economic growth.
