Dr Ted Hewitt

Dr Ted Hewitt has been appointed president of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), replacing Dr Chad Gaffield (R$, April 15/14). Hewitt was previously SSHRC's executive VP and COO and has managed the agency's day-to-day operations since Gaffield's departure last August. He joined SSHRC as a member of the governing council in 2011 and took on fulltime duties in 2012 after serving as VP research and international relations and Western Univ (formerly Univ of Western Ontario).
