Dr Kamiel Gabriel has been appointed assistant DM and science adviser for Ontario's Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI). Gabriel is on secondment from the Univ of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) where he was associate provost research. With MRI, he will be responsible for delivery of its research programs including the Ontario Research Fund and will provide advice on leading-edge S&T policy. Gabriel holds a BSc in mechanical engineering and a MSc from the Univ of Alexandria, Egypt. He also holds a PhD in heat transfer and two-phase energy flow systems from the Univ of Manitoba and a diploma in space science from the International Space Univ, Strasbourg France. Gabriel will assume the duties of Dr Tony Vander Voet, who is retiring after 28 years of public serviceā¦.
