Dr Julia Vassileva has been named to the Univ of Saskatchewan’s Cameco NSERC Prairie Chair for Women in Science and Engineering to mentor young women in the sciences and identify barriers to discouraging them from pursuing science and engineering careers. The five-year, $1.16-million appointment is supported by Saskatoon-based Cameco Corp ($350,000), Science and Engineering Research Canada ($350,000) and the Univ of Saskatchewan ($460,000).
