Dr Don Rix is being honoured with a research chair in his name to attract a leading expert in humans health genetic diagnostics. The chair is being endowed with $2 million from LifeLabs (formerly MDS Metro Laboratory Services) which Rix co-founded and is a former co-owner. Genome BC is also contributing $250,000 to the chair and has teamed with LifeLabs to review potential candidates. Three years ago, Rix was honoured with a chair in his name for BC Leadership in Aboriginal environmental health.
