Dr David Bernard

Dr David Bernard has been appointed board chair of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) for a three-year term effective October 9th. The CKRN is a consortium of Canadian universities dedicated to expanding digital content for the academic research. Barnard is president and vice-chancellor of the Univ of Manitoba and between 2005 and 2008 served as COO of Regina-based iQmetrix, an information technology firm focused on the retail sector. Prior to his current U of M positions, Barnard was president and vice-chancellor of the Univ Regina and spent 19 years at Queen's Univ as head of the department of computing and information science and other senior administrative positions. He holds a PhD in computer science from the Univ of Toronto….
