Dr Chaviva Hosek has announced her retirement as president and CEO of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR). Hosek will leave the institute in June 2012 having served for more than 10 years, leaving the board time to mount an international search for her replacement. Prior to joining CIFAR, she enjoyed a long career in government and academic circles, including director of policy and research for prime minister Jean Chrétien.
