Denise Amyot will continue to lead Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) as president and CEO. Amyot's contract was renewed for a second five-year term by the CICan board of directors and announced at its Annual General Membership meeting on June 19. Staying on the job will allow Amyot to lead the implementation of a new strategic plan since its current plan is expiring this year. CICan is  holding consultations for the new plan for 2019-2024 with a target launch set for April 1, 2019. Amyot first served as head of CICan in 2013 after a distinguished career in public service. Shortly before leading CICan, she was president and CEO of Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation. Amyot has a master’s degree in education and three bachelor degrees in biology, arts/humanities and education.
