David Hancock has been appointed minister of Alberta's Ministry of Innovation and Advanced Education, a new configuration that succeeds the Ministry of Enterprise and Advanced Education (EAD). Hancock replaces Thomas Lukaszuk who oversaw $147 million in post-secondary cuts announced in the spring 2013 Budget. Hancock also becomes deputy premier and is the fourth minister to preside over the advanced education portfolio in two years. The new ministry's DM is David Morhart, who also served as DM for EAD.
