A majority of Canadians believe diversity in culture and background contributes to innovation success, according to a new survey by the Xerox Research Centre of Canada. The survey by Leger Marketing found that 77% of respondents feel cultural and background diversity lead to greater innovation and a stronger Canadian business landscape.The Centre says the survey validates its approach to assembling innovative talent. It employs researchers from 35 countries, with skilled immigrants comprising more than half of its PhD-level staff. With just 120 scientists, the Centre pursues four novel scientific ideas weekly, resulting in 40 to 60 patents every year....
