CREATE program provides $24 million for 15 initiatives.

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council's Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program (CREATE) is investing $24 million over six years in 15 initiatives to provide graduate students in science and engineering disciplines with private sector experience in a variety of key sectors, including genomics, climate change, wireless technology and clean tech. The awards include $1.6 million for a joint Dalhousie Univ-Helmholtz graduate school program (see page 7) and $1.6 million to McGill Univ and Laval Univ for medical physics graduates. CREATE is one of several funds within NSERC's Industry Driven Collaborative Research and Development Programs. In addition to team-based training, CREATE also facilitates student mobility between institutions nationally and internationally.
