Concordia Univ is investing $52.75 million in a research and innovation hub in its new applied science space to incubate promising products and services with a particular emphasis on chemical and materials engineering, nanoscience and microscopy and cellular imaging. The incubator is supported with $20.6 million from the federal Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund, $16.1 million from the province’s Plan québécois des infrastructures 2016-2026 and $16 million from Concordia and its partners. The hub will feature infrastructure to support the scaling up of projects from the lab bench. Dry and wet co-working laboratories to support entrepreneurs will be provided in an integrated space in Concordia’s District 3 Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
