Cisco Systems Inc has announced that Toronto will become one of its four Internet of Everything Innovation (IoE) Centres with a planned investment of $100 million over five years. The deal builds on the San Jose CA-based company's agreement with the Province of Ontario to invest $4 billion over 10 years in its operations in Kanata and Toronto. In return, Ontario committed $220 million to support the agreement (R$, December 18/13) — the biggest tech investment in the province's history. The Toronto IoE Centre will be part of a network of centres located in Rio de Janeiro, Songdo South Korea and an as-yet-unnamed city in Germany.
