The Montreal-based Jarislowsky Foundation and Carleton Univ are partnering to establish a $4-million Jarislowsky Chair in Water and Global Health. The foundation will contribute $2 million with matching funds from Carleton as part of the university's $300-million Collaborate fundraising campaign. Although the chair will be situated in the Faculty of Engineering and Design's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, it is intended to be pan-university and interdisciplinary, encompassing engineering, public policy, environ- mental monitoring and health. The chair will build on Carleton's research capacity in water issues, particularly wastewater treatment.
