CANARIE has announced that it will fund the ongoing activities of Research Data Canada (RDC) until the end of its current mandate in 2015. RDC was established in 2012 to address the challenges and issues associated with managing and preserving research data — a function closely aligned with a call from CANARIE's stakeholder community for a collaborative and coordinated approach to research data management. RDC has been funded since its inception by CANARIE, National Research Council Knowledge Management and the Canadian Association of Research Libraries. In other news, CANARIE is partnering with GrowLab — a Vancouver-based start-up accelerator — to provide cloud-based resources for product development and commercialization.
