CANARIE scores high with chief information officers

A survey of university and college chief information officers (CIOs) by CANARIE Inc shows strong support for the advanced research and innovation network. The survey — presented at the CANHEIT Conference of CIOs at McMaster Univ - found that 92% of respondents expect their need for CANARIE to grow over the next two-to-five years. The importance of CANARIE to international research network activity was supported by 80% — the same percentage that said the disappearance of CANARIE would have an negative impact on their ability to attract top-flight researchers. Its role in the creation of intellectual property drew an 87% support response….
