VeriFone founder donates $2 million to York Univ

York Univ alumnus Douglas Bergeron and his wife Sandra have donated $2 million to his alma mater to establish the Bergeron Entrepreneurs in Science & Technology (BEST) program. The program will be used to support entrepreneurial programs in S&T, engineering and mathematics, and teach business experience to aspiring student-entrepreneurs. A veteran technology executive, Bergeron founded VeriFone, a point-of-sale electronic payment system based in San Diego CA.
