The 7th Canadian Science Policy Conference, CSPC 2015

"New Government for Canada, New Horizons for Science and Innovation Policy"

After four years, CSPC is returning to the nation's capital to bring together scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, journalists, students and many others from across the country to discuss the present and future of Canadian science, technology, and innovation policy. As the first science policy conference held after the federal election, it will be in a position to engage with and influence the critical issues of science and innovation policy facing the new government.

CSPC 2015 Highlights:

  • 22 panel sessions and more than 100 panelists
  • An opening address by Nobel Laureate Dr. Art McDonald
  • Keynote session on "Science Advice to Governments", featuring the chief science advisor of New Zealand: Sir Peter Gluckman
  • Plenary panel discussion featuring leaders of big science projects from around the world, including John Womersley, the U.K's Chief Executive of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), and Nigel Lockyer, director of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, organized by Canada Foundation for Innovation.

CSPC 2015 expects 500+ participants from various disciplines and sectors; academia, federal and provincial governments, private and non-profit sectors. Participants represent the "who's who" of science and innovation policy from both the current leadership cadre and the next generation of Canada's top scientists, business leaders and science policy experts.
