Michael Hrybyk

Michael Hrybyk has been appointed full-time president and CEO of BCNet, a non-profit society for the development of advanced networks in British Columbia. Hrybyk has held the position on a part-time basis since 1994 while working as director, advanced information technology group, at the BC Institute of Technology (BCIT). He will take a leave of absence from the BCIT duties. Hrybyk holds a MSc in computer science from John Hopkins Univ and held the position of manager of computing systems and networks. He also helped create that university’s first ethernet network in 1986. Hrybyk will direct BCNet’s ongoing activities supporting and promoting advanced networks for BC’s education and research communities.
