MDS Nordion sells oncology software unit to Delft

MDS Nordion has sold its Oncology Software Solutions (OSS) business unit to a Dutch firm for $35 million. The unit was purchased by Delft Instruments NV and will be integrated into its Nucletron BV subsidiary. OSS has built a suite of oncology software products and services under its Oncentra brand. MDS said the OSS will benefit from the sale through Delft’s broader market reach and critical mass, which will help move its niche market products forward. MDS Nordion will continue to focus on its radioimmunotherapy capabilities, global sterilization business and expanding its sources of medical isotopes. Delft develops, produces and distributes instruments, systems and software for medical and industrial use. About 150 employees will be transferred from OSS to Nucletron, which is headquartered in Veenendaal Holland….
