Mark Whitmore has been appointed chair of CANARIE Inc, Canada's advanced network agency, replacing David Steeves. Whitmore is dean of science at the Univ of Manitoba. Also joining the 12-member CANARIE board of directors are: Jim Roche (vice-chair), former president and CEO of CMC Microsystems and former president, Tundra Semiconductors Inc; Louis Savoie (secretary treasurer), regional VP, enterprise accounts, Bell Canada; Kim Devooght, VP public sector, IBM Canada; and, Lynn Sutherland, president and CEO, Cybera Inc….
