FP Innovations Partners with Alberta's Tech Futures

FP Innovations has signed two collaborative agreements with Alberta Innovates-Technology Futures (AITF) in the areas of cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and engineered composite products. The agreements will see researchers from the two organizations collaborate on a R&D project for oriented strand board and another to establish codes and standards to accelerate the commercialization of CNC products and help penetrate global markets. FP Innovations — the research arm of the Canadian forestry industry — has built a pilot CNC facility in Pointe-Claire QC for producing various grades of CNC and has formed a joint venture with Domtar (CelluForce) that established a demonstration plant to produce commercial quantities of CNC....
