Eicon acquiring Intel media and signalling assets

Eicon Networks is acquiring the media and signaling business lines of Intel Corp for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will propel the Montreal-based firm into the forefront of media processing and signalling markets, extending its reach for both traditional circuit switch communication technology and IP platforms for service providers and enterprises. The two Intel business lines employ approximately 600 people, many of whom will become Eicon employees.
