Duncan Hawthorne is stepping down as president and CEO of Bruce Power to take up equivalent positions with Horizon Nuclear Power in the UK. CFO Kevin Kelly will serve as acting president while the company conducts a search for a new CEO. Hawthorne joined Bruce Power in 2001 when it was principally owned by British Energy, and oversaw its transition to all-Canadian ownership. That ownership now includes Borealis Infrastructure (Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System) Transalta Corp and the Power Workers Union. Bruce Power's reactors were completed refurbished and a subsequent period of refurbishment will commence shortly, extending the operation of the nuclear reactors to 2064….
