Dr Michael Salter

Dr Michael Salter has been appointed chief of research at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids), replacing Dr Janet Rossant upon the completion of her 10-year term. Salter has been a member of the Sick Kids Research Institute since 1989, specializing in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of normal and pathological neuroplasticity. His latest in a series of leadership positions was as head of the neurosciences and mental health program. Salter holds an MD from Western Univ and a PhD in physiology from McGill Univ. He is a Tier I Canada Research Chair holder in neuroplasticity and pain and holds a Sick Kids' chair in molecular medicine....
