Dr Marcel Boyer has been appointed VP of the Montreal Economic Institute, an economic think tank. Boyer has taught economics at the Univ of Montreal since 1974, is a fellow of the Centre for Interuniversity Research and Analysis on Organizations (CIRANO) and sites on the board of the Quebec agency for public-private partnerships. He has held various positions with CIRANO over the years, including president and CEO (1998-2002) and VP and scientific director (1993-1998). Between 1993 and 2000, he held the CRSH-CRSNG chair in technology and international competition at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. Boyer holds a PhD in economics from Carnegie Mellon Univ and is considered a specialist in the areas of competition policy, university financing and performance assessment, deregulation and cost-sharing and price setting for common infrastructure....
