Dr Ilene Busch-Vishniac

Dr Ilene Busch-Vishniac, president of the Univ of Saskatchewan, has been appointed to the 18-member Science, Technology and Innovation Council (STIC) — one of two new appointments drawn from the U of S (see below). Busch-Vishniac has held the president's position since 2011 and was previously provost and VP academic at McMaster Univ, her first Canadian posting following a long academic career in her native US which included serving as the dean of the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins Univ. She holds an MSc and PhD in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds nine US patents on electromechanical sensors….
