Dr Gregory Fahlman has been appointed DG of the National Research Council’s Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics. Fahlman was previously executive director of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, a collaboration between the NRC, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique of France and the Univ of Hawaii. Fahlman joined the NRC in 1970 as a post doctoral fellow and soon after joined the faculty of the Univ of British Columbia. He has authored 150 articles on stellar and extragalactic astronomy....
