Dr Douglas Stephan has been named the 2002 winner of the Humboldt Research Award for his life’s work in chemistry research. The award is handed out annually by the Humboldt Foundation of Germany. Stephan is a professor of chemistry at Windsor Univ and holder of the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council/NOVA Chemicals Ltd Industrial Research Chair in Polymerization Catalysis. He was nominated by Dr Gerhard Erker a researcher at Munster Univ with whom Stephan has collaborated for the past six years. The award allows Stephan to work with Erker in Germany on a research project of his choice between September and April, as well as giving several lectures….
