CRTI issues fifth call for proposals

The CBRN Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI) is issuing its fifth and likely final call for proposals. The five-year, $170-million program has invested $134.2 million in 64 projects and 17 technology acquisitions since being founded three years ago (R$, January 23/02), leaving $35.8 million plus any accrued interest available for new projects. CRTI is led by Defence R&D Canada on behalf of several S&T-based departments and invests in technology projects addressing criminal investigation capabilities, S&T dimensions of risk assessment and public confidence and psychosocial factors. Projects will be accepted in the areas of technology acceleration, research and technology development and technology demonstration.
