Christian Paradis was appointed minister of Industry in last week's federal Cabinet shuffle. Paradis was previously minister of Natural Resources ( a position he held for little more than one year), minister of Public Works and Government Services and secretary of state for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Paradis holds one of five Quebec ridings won by the Conservatives in the May 2 election. He replaces Tony Clement, who moves from Industry to president of Treasury Board (a position previously held by Stockwell Day) and minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario. Gary Goodyear retains his position as minister of state for science and technology and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. John Baird has been moved from Environment to Foreign Affairs. Toronto MP Joe Oliver takes the reins at Natural Resources Canada….
