The Canada Foundation for Innovation has announced $52 million in funding for 220 new infrastructure projects at 51 universities through its John R Evans Leaders Fund (JELF). The funding will allow researchers to conduct their research in world-class facilities, building a new generation of researchers and fuelling innovation. JELF will provide $40 million with an additional $12 million coming from the CFI’s Infrastructure Operating Fund to help institutions with the incremental costs related to operating and maintaining new infrastructure. JELF is proving to be an effective tool for helping universities attract and retain top talent, particularly early-career researchers.
