Carmen Charette

Carmen Charette has been appointed VP external relations at the Univ of Victoria, effective August 1st. Charette has been a stalwart of the Ottawa innovation community having held several senior positions with research granting agencies and government. Most recently, she was executive VP of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Prior to that, Charette was DG of Industry Canada's science and innovation sector. After holding several positions at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, she was one of the first hires at the Canada Foundation for Innovation where she held the position of senior VP. At UVic, Charette replaces Dr Valerie Kuehne who is stepping down after seven years to return to her academic position at UVic's faculty of human and social development….
