CANARIE holds public consultations on proposed mandate

February 28, 2018

CANARIE is holding public consultations to allow stakeholders to have a say on its proposed 2020 – 2025 mandate. CANARIE is conducting six webinars from March to April to outline the proposed mandate and enlist feedback and guidance. CANARIE, a not-for-profit, federally funded provider of high-speed networking in support of digital research infrastructure, is working towards getting a new round of funding come March 2019 as its $105-million, five-year mandate is due to expire on April 1, 2020. According to CANARIE, the public consultations will allow it to respond to the evolving needs of the community it serves. Alongside webinars, CANARIE will hold face-to-face meetings and present its proposal at conferences and events throughout the spring. It hopes to submit a final proposal to the Government of Canada by summer 2018.
