Canada and India sign R&D cooperation pact

Canada will spend $6.75 million over the next five years to conduct collaborative research with India. Canada will contribute to a dedicated fund, which will be matched by India.The agreement between the two countries includes the establishment of an Indo-Canadian nanotechnology centre in Delhi and research cooperation in the areas of sustainable energy, biotechnology, health care and medical devices. The pact will likely be formalized in November when the Indian minister of state for science and technology visits Ottawa. The agreement was announced last month at the 11th Technology Summit in Delhi....
